It is well known that men can adopt an ostrich approach to their health . A Mori poll (July 1992) shows that 21% of men were either reluctant or needed encouragement to go to their GP. It also found that even though the death rate from prostate disease is four times the mortality rate from cervical cancer and that more than one in three men can expect to suffer from some sort of prostate disease even before the age of 50, only 32 per cent of men knew anything about their prostate. Courses held in the workplace help men to learn, discuss and question different aspects affecting their health in a non-threatening and relaxed environment. Half-day, one-day and two-day options are offered. Choose from the following menu to build a course to your own design:
Men & Coronary Heart disease--signs, symptoms and avoidance. Men and cancer--what can go wrong and avoiding the risks. Exercise Healthy eating Weight control Stress management Time management Work/life balance Alcohol and smoking Coping with depression Sexual health and awareness Benefits of a healthy lifestyle
