The body is like a thermostat attempting to maintain a constant balance against the changes in environment and circumstances or life. When it is functioning properly we are in a state of balance and good health (homeostasis). Stress, either through under-stimulation--rust out, or distress--burn out, can cause illness and breakdown. Our courses are designed to help people learn to recognise the warning signs of stress in their lives; realistically appraise their capabilities; and choose from a range of coping skills that help to re-establish balance and control back into their lives.
